Encore Developer

The Encore Developer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining applications built on the FIS Encore or Encore-based ERP/transaction systems used in the packaging manufacturing environment. The role focuses on supporting business-critical functions such as production planning, order management, inventory control, supply chain operations, and financial transactions. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are optimized for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development & Customization
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and modules within the Encore environment to support manufacturing and packaging workflows.
• Customize Encore programs to meet business needs in production scheduling, order entry, costing, and inventory management.
• Create and enhance batch processes, reports, interfaces, and automation scripts.
• Manufacturing & Supply Chain System Support
• Support Encore integrations with ERP/MES systems, shop-floor machines, barcode systems, and logistics platforms.
• Maintain and optimize processes related to Bill of Materials (BOMs), production orders, material consumption, waste reporting, and shipment workflows.
• Ensure data accuracy across production, inventory, procurement, and sales modules.
• Integration & Data Management
• Develop interfaces between Encore and external systems (ERP, WMS, CRM, Finance tools).
• Work with APIs, EDI, flat files, and message queues to ensure seamless data flow.
• Establish controls for data quality across manufacturing, inventory, and sales processes.
• Production Support & Troubleshooting
• Provide support for daily manufacturing operations; troubleshoot system issues affecting production, inventory, shipping, and order processing.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for system or process failures and implement long-term solutions.
• Monitor system performance and propose optimizations.
• Enhancements, Upgrades & Documentation
• Participate in Encore system upgrades, patches, and migration projects.
• Write technical documentation, design specifications, process flow diagrams, and support guides.
• Work closely with business analysts, plant operations, and IT teams to refine system requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Encore platform development (Encore applications, programming logic, scripting, batch processes).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing or packaging industry processes, including:
• Production planning & scheduling
• Order-to-cash cycle
• Procurement & inventory
• BOM management & material movement
• Machine-level data collection (optional)
• Experience with RDBMS systems such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with system interfaces and integration technologies (API, EDI, flat files, MQ, SFTP).
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
